Redemption ~ Stylized Water Temple

This project was realized as part of a class assignment: I had to pick a 2D concept and translate it into 3D in a month. It's a practice run for my final project next semester that I will have 3 months to create.
I got to learn a lot through the creation process, such as trying new workflows, learning to use SpeedTree, and testing new methods for materials and particle effects. There is still a lot of room for improvement, and I will be refining the workflow/implementing new techniques between semesters in preparation for my next environment.
Looking back, I think I could have been more efficient if I knew the techniques I learned a little too late in the process, and I think my materials and lighting needs improvement. But overall, I'm pretty happy with the result and the improvement from my last environment, and cannot wait to apply some of the new techniques I learned for my next environment.
I named this one redemption, because it was a pivotal point in my journey in this space. While my teachers did not believe I was ready to move on to the next semester because of my previous projects, which I used more as tests than actual environments, I knew I was ready, and I had to put all of my passion and determination into this one environment that would prove them otherwise. This project allowed me to redeem myself and show what I'm capable of. It was also important in my process of finding out what drives me, what pushes me further and what keeps me passionate about 3D art. In the end, while I have learned a lot since and feel I can do better, this environment will always hold a special place in my heart because of the meaning it holds for me.
